How to Wear: Vintage Sweaters

It's the time of year where I see groups of hip girls roaming the thrift store, hunting for the perfect ugly Christmas sweater. It's usually not very hard. In fact, there are a lot of ugly vintage sweaters out there. But some of them are ugly-awesome, and you can style them into a hip, unique look. Here are two of my favorites, in the shop right now, styled with modern pieces (mostly under $50!):

2. American Eagle Vegan Leather Jacket (a steal! $49.98)/// 3. MIA Ankle Boots ($29.99)

1. Fleece-lined Tights ($7 right now!) ///
2. Charlotte Russe Faux Leather Skater Skirt ($22.99 right now!) /// 3. Nike sneakers ($75)

A vintage sweater is one of my go-to winter pieces--there are so many varieties, so you can find the one that best suits your style, whether it's bohemian rock and roller or sporty ingenue. There are many more in our shop (wink, wink--Christmas is coming).

P.S. Please remember how important it is to support small businesses, local shops, and indie presses/designers this holiday season. It means we can buy things for our own families (oh, and pay our bills).

Fall Denim Staples + Vintage

Second in line after boots, my favorite fall must-have is a great pair of jeans--in fact, I like to have several well-loved pairs in my wardrobe to work with.  I miss my jeans during those hot summer months and then usually wear them to death once the cool months come around.

My most-worn jeans for autumn are an easy pair of slimming denim in a mid-wash.  I usually go for a skinny leg so that I can wear them both with flats or my aforementioned boots, but I also love the retro feel of wide leg jeans with a high rise.  With the base of your outfit being a great pair of denim, you can simply add a quirky blouse and some fun, colorful shoes (both vintage!).

SHOP:

My next must-have pair of jeans for women are a dark denim wash; great for a special date -- or even for "casual Friday" at the office (a dark wash looks way more professional).  I love this look of a super girly vintage blouse with a sleek pair of jeans and stacked wood heels.  Chic but still easy.

SHOP:

I think the last pair of jeans that every gal should have in her closet this fall are what I call a "wild card"-- something just a little more special.  Some great choices would be printed jeans or some sort of coated denim.  I like the idea of something a little more edgy, like the ones shown below.

SHOP:

Being pregnant and dressing for cool weather has been a challenge so far because I'm missing my favorite jeans!  I don't want to invest in anything too pricey as far as maternity-wear goes, so I'm rotating between one pair of mid-wash jeans and some stretchy waist leggings.  Needless to say--I'm jealous of you ladies who can rock all the jeans you want this fall!  What are your go-to jeans?  Something I've left off this list?  I'd love to hear...to live vicariously!

Mixing Vintage and Modern / Designer Jeans

As you know, I love vintage, but for some pieces, it's not always the most practical choice.  For tops, dresses, shoes and accessories, vintage is a no brainer.  But when it comes to jeans, in order to find ones with the proper fit, I like to buy new.  And because denim is a daily staple (at least in my wardrobe!), I am willing to spend a bit more for the quality of designer jeans.  Once you invest in the perfect pair, you'll find yourself getting enough use out of them to make up for the larger price tag.  Here are couple ways to make the most of your designer jeans-- a casual/ daytime look and a dressy/evening look, both utilizing the same dark denim skinny jeans (I love the high rise on these ones!) from True Religion.

For day time, a soft tee and beaded moccasins look polished when paired with a perfect fitting dark denim skinny jean.  This is probably my favorite combination of vintage and modern pieces.

- Miskabelle vintage tee
-Miskabelle vintage mocs

For an evening out, the exact same dark denim skinny jeans look flawless, paired with a silky blouse and pair of pretty pink heels with gold hardware.  This outfit is just the right amount of fancy for a dinner date or a girl’s night out.

-True Religion Abbey High Rise Super Skinny Womens Jean
- Miskabelle vintage blouse
-Miskabelle vintage heels

I definitely think a pair of perfectly fitting jeans are a staple in any woman's wardrobe.  The high rise and dark wash on these ones is super flattering and has that vintage appeal that I love.  I am a firm believer that the jeans can make the outfit!  I am always sure to have a favorite pair in my arsenal that I can pull out on those days where I need something easy that I know will me feel great.  Modern denim paired with my favorite vintage pieces and I am ready to go!

How To Wear Vintage: Transitions

We haven't been doing a whole lotta outfit posts (in case you hadn't noticed) because: WINTER. This has been the coldest, snowiest, grossest winter I can recall. These spring teasers are driving me nuts! Case in point: yesterday, it was 67 degrees. Today it is 20 degrees with a windchill that makes it feel like 3 degrees.

When we finally get into a regular spring temperature groove, it's not warm enough for sundresses and sandals, but heavy coats are gone too. What's a girl to do? Here are a couple ideas for transitional dressing--in vintage, of course:

Don't put away your jackets and sweaters just yet...for the in-between weather, light layers are exactly what you need.  Also:  don't worry about your pedicure just yet! Boots + a pretty dress is one of our favorite vintage looks for all seasons!

Sister Dreamrobe: Summer's End

If you know me, you know that I am a total summer-lover.  When everyone else is daydreaming about pumpkin spice and sweater season, I am hanging on to every last day, minute, second of my beloved summertime.  But autumn is inevitable and at least cute clothes are incentive to want to move into this next season.  Here are Amanda and I's picks of some Etsy favorites to carry you from the end of summer and into fall.

Amanda's picks have the element of warm colors to make them very "fall", but can also work while the weather's still warm.

I do love me a great pair of jeans--that is one piece that I miss during hot summer months.  Add a chunky knit cardigan over the blouse and switch out the sandals for some platform clogs, and this look is fall-worthy as well.

What pieces are you dreaming of for the impending fall season?

Sister Dreamrobe: Summer in the City

This week's dreamrobe is inspired by a city vacation--the important thing is to be comfortable (no high heels!) and cool. We both got a little bohemian this week, with a touch of grunge.  Maybe these are the perfect looks for a tour of Seattle?

Vintage Fleetwood Mac Tee Shirt (worn knotted at the waist!), $185 via sugarshackvintage ///
70s Red Prairie Skirt, $32 via retroandme /// Vintage Kilim and Leather Tote Bag, $96 via alchemievintage /// Vintage Whiting and David Chunky Ring and Bracelet Set, $55 via JuneeMoonVintage ///
Vintage Riding Boots, $85 via Twenty20Vintage

90s Knit Crop Top, $30 via juliahaltvintage /// 90s Floral Flouncy Shorts, $19 via kiwifinds /// Vintage Silk Floral Headscarf, $18 via  fadedroses/// Vintage Tooled Leather Clutch, $42.50 via VintageSoup /// 80s Lace Up Leather Sandals, $28 via purevintageclothing

So many beautiful vintage pieces to dream about...which would you pick if you could have JUST ONE?

xo,
J&A

P.S. In case you hadn't heard via Twitter, Amanda's baby girl came 6 weeks early. She is still in the hospital, but she's doing great and should come home soon. In the meantime, we are playing catch-up with the shop and blog, so please bare with us (and stay tuned for photos and updates!).

Sister Dreamrobe: Summer Daydreams

We're all about being thrifty around here, but that doesn't mean we can't dream of beautiful vintage things that are just a little (or a lot) outside of our budgets.  We wanted to share a new little blog feature where we scrounge Etsy for our perfect outfit, as though money is no object (nor pregnancy bellies, in Amanda's case). So here, we bring to you the first installment of Sister Dreamrobe:
1.  1940s Sundress with Pockets, $85 via CreatedandCollected /// 2.  1940s Enamel Cherry Brooch, $42.99 via QuiltsETC /// 3.  1940s Telephone Cord Clutch, $55 via VirginiasVice ///
4. 1940s Red Heels, $78 via therobotparade
1.  1970s Mini Dress, $58 via caramelizedvintage /// 2. Vintage Jade Cuff, $59 via mkmack ///
3. Vintage Market Tote, $48 via FarmsteadVintage ///
4. Vintage Leather Boho Boots, $93 via mustlovevintage

Of course, our personalized styles come through--Amanda's pinup vibe and Jayme's bohemian flare.  This is just a small taste of the great vintage you can find on Etsy (sadly, it's mixed in with a lot of not-so-great or not-authentic vintage).  We hope you see some things you might dream of--and start saving for--too!

How to Wear Vintage: Vintage Dresses with Sneakers

If I'm being honest, it's hard to imagine wearing clothes right now because it's so darn hot and humid. However, clothes must be worn.  Flip flops are easy summer shoes, but they're not very good support (and frankly, I still find them frumpy/lazy, if I'm honest), so occasionally, I've been pairing my Converse with a cute dress. This is a great look for traveling, especially if you're going to be doing a lot of walking. Canvas is lightweight and breathable. Sneakers are also just the thing  if your pedicure is looking less-than-stellar.

SHOP THESE LOOKS:
1.   80s does 50s Polka Dot Dress + 70s Striped Canvas Sneakers, $24
2.  80s Floral Sweetheart Dress + Vintage Pink Keds, $24
3.  Vintage Striped Silk Dress + Vintage Striped Canvas Skimmers, $18

This look can carry you through almost any weather--or circumstance (including pregnancy!).  Being comfortable is a bonus when you look so cute!

Check out other dresses in our shop, and add your fave sneaks to the mix!

How to Style A Basic White Tank: Just Add Vintage

As far as summer staples go, there is none more essential than the plain white tank top; a super easy piece to mix and match, and as a bonus it helps show off your tan!  Amanda and I thought it would be fun to each put together a summer outfit using a plain white tank + pieces from the shop.

***********

***********

This formula of a white tank + vintage skirt + sandals usually ends up being my summer uniform.  We have a ton of great skirts in the shop right now and are looking to expand our sandal collection at the end this month when Amanda and I are meeting up to shop for a little big vintage haul!

10 Under $20: Vintage Midi Skirts

It seems like everyone is all about the maxi skirt come summertime, but as I've discussed via Twitter with some fashionable friends, the midi skirt is really the most flattering skirt for every shape (and still means you just have to shave halfway up your calves, if you want). I perused Etsy for midi skirts in various shapes and prints, and the best part is, they're all under $20! Pair with a basic tank and sandals, and you'll be stylin' in vintage! For those who are still not sure about vintage, a skirt is a great place to start, after accessories.

Here are 10 of my favorites:

1. 80s Floral Full Midi Skirt, $18
Fuller skirts are great for fuller hips (trust me, I know) and a high waist creates an hourglass look.

2. 70s Applique Wrap Skirt, $13
I love a good wrap skirt for summer, and this one is so sweet in chambray!

3. 70s Full Prairie Skirt, $16
For the bohemian gal.

4.  Vintage Bandanna Print Midi, $18
The perfect skirt for 4th of July BBQ's!

5.  Vintage Classic Polka Dot Midi Skirt, $18.70
This would look adorable with a graphic tee on top.

6. Vintage Checked Midi Skirt, $15
A great skirt if you want to try mixing patterns!

7. 80s Beige Geometric Midi Skirt, $14
The perfect nude: pair it with a white tank and brown leather belt + sandals.

8.  80s Bright Tribal Print Midi Skirt, $18
Great colors in a bold pattern!

9.  70s Handkerchief Print Skirt, $10.50 TOP PICK!!!
My favorite of the bunch...if it was my size, it would already be in my shopping cart.

10. 80s purple velour midi skirt, $10
For the grunge ladies:  how amazing would this be with some creepers and round shades?

Which skirt is your favorite? Will you be trying out midi skirts this summer?

Outfit Post: 24 Weeks + Recap

6 months along...we are over halfway, it is almost June, and I can hardly believe it! I am feeling pretty good (other than dealing with the heat--but I suppose I better get used to it). The real planning and dreaming has begun.

I found this dress while thrifting, and I thought it would go in the shop, since it's pretty large, but it has some small tears that I couldn't repair very well...and guess what? When I added a belt, and did a quick/rough sewing job, it became the perfect maternity day dress!  We took these pics before heading to our sure-to-be new favorite spot--the splash pad area at our new shopping district. I picked up a salad and brought some snacks and Q and I camped out while Aurora (who really wanted her picture in her new "babing suit") ran through the fountains. It was a perfect evening.

 Outfit details:  dress-vintage, belt-vintage, sandals-vintage

Also, notice the curliness of my hair. I had tried no-heat curls a time or two last summer, but my hair was a little short, and I wrapped them too tight or something.  Now that my hair is longer, I can get 2 or 3 days of not washing my hair and looking like I put a ton of time into styling it--which is key for a pregnant mama on the go.

The 24 Week Rundown
Baby Size:  A rutabaga--I can honestly say I have no clue how big that is.
Feeling: I am getting the nesting bug every so often--some days I can't stop doing laundry or organizing (Q is lovin' it, I think!). But my lower back and hips have been bothering me at night, so that, paired with the heat, has not been making for a good night's sleep.
Weight gain: I am up 2 pounds since my last doctor's appointment, and officially in the "gaining" zone, after losing 8 or 9 pounds during the first trimester.
Cravings/Aversions:  Butterfingers (still). Coffee and coffee ice cream. Loaded salads.
Preparations:  We spent this weekend in PA with the family--I had a bunch of stuff stored in my parents' basement from Aurora, which we brought home: infant carseat, Bumbo chair, some clothes...we're really having another baby! It's finally setting in.  And, of course, I pick up a little outfit (or two) at the thrift every week because I can't resist.

Happy Friday! We have a busy weekend ahead, including Aurora's first dance recital and an end-of-the-year soccer pool party (our last one with the big girls...quite bittersweet for Coach Dad).

From the Shop: Festival Dreams

I am a music fiend, and going to a festival is a big dream of mine (that is nowhere in the foreseeable future, and by the time it is, I will probably be too old and jaded). But SO much style and inspiration comes from this big outdoor fests, so I did a little brainstorm of what I might put together (head to toe vintage!) to rock out to my favorite musicians:

You're probably gonna sway to: Band of Horses, Shovels and Rope, The Lumineers, Lord Huron
What to wear: cropped knit tank, peasant floral skirt, campus boots, leather crossbody bag
Just add:  a flower crown, a wrist full of friendship bracelets from all your new best friends

You'll be bobbing your head to: Grizzly Bear, Local Natives, Passion Pit, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend
What to wear:  key print scarf, striped sweater tee, gray denim cutoffs, chain maille bag, huarache sandals
Just add:  wayfarers, a PBR
You'll be dancing to: Bat for Lashes, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Purity Ring, the XX
What to wear:  black cutout maxi dress, statement necklace, t-strap sandals, woven clutch
Just add:  thick black eyeliner, a lower back tattoo (fake...or real!)

Which look would you take to your favorite shows? (And who are you dying to see live?)

Amanda

Outfit Post: 16 Weeks

We've hit the official 4 month mark!Woohoo! I was 16 weeks on Easter, and even though it was dreary, we managed to get some photos in our Sunday best (more images from our family Easter in VA on tomorrow's blog!).

outfit details:  dress-1940s vintage via antique shop, blazer-vintage/thrifted, lipstick brooch-vintage via eBay, nude fishnets-Spanx, mustard heels-B.A.I.T.

I changed my outfit idea for Easter 3 or 4 times as the weather changed.  What stayed the same in every outfit was my adorable mustard 1940s-style peeptoes (which I had been eyeing FOREVER and finally bought on super sale in February!).  They are cute and so comfortable...as I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that I won't be wearing a lot of my pretty heels in the upcoming months.

The 1940s polka dot dress was a birthday gift from Q, and it's still a little big, so I think it will a great piece for the next few months as the weather warms up.  It has the prettiest eyelet sleeves (That are covered up here by my blazer!).

The 16 Week Rundown
Baby Size:  An avocado! Yummy, yummy.
Feeling: Pretty great. A little tired, but I'm more energized if I'm active/outside/etc.  I'm also eating more and feeling less aversions to food.
Weight gain:  Still the same as last week, but I imagine I'll start gaining soon, since I'm eating normally!
Cravings/Aversions:  Iced Tea Lemonade (still). Jayme's homemade Broccoli soup. Pickled Beet Eggs.
Preparations:  Jayme brought down some more neutral vintage clothes from Pennsylvania, so I have a little collection going.  We are starting to plan and create an invite for our BBQ/Gender Reveal party, which is super fun!

Sidenote (not baby-related!):  Do you have a vintage or handmade shop or blog that you'd like to get more exposure?  We'd love to collaborate with you. We are offering 30% off all ad partnerships this month through Passionfruit ads with code AprilShowers. We also do small ad swaps with businesses/blogs that are a good fit! We'd love to have you--to encourage you and promote you! (And your support for us means the world!)

Outfit Post: 13 Weeks

I just posted my 12 week rundown on Friday (but I was actually 12 weeks 5 days), so...here we are, FINALLY, at week 13! Second trimester, here I come!  The warm weather and fresh air have definitely been helping with my mood and sickness. We took the metro to the National Zoo on Saturday and did a lot of walking--I was tired, but felt good. Sunday was church/errand day, and this is what I wore:

 Outfit details:  cardigan-vintage, blouse-vintage, head scarf-vintage,
brooch-vintage (gift from Q!), skirt-vintage, shoes-UO

I see a bump...do you? ;)

I loved this outfit--I felt a little more like myself. I've been wearing maternity pants/sweats and t-shirts or big sweaters on the daily with my hair up in a top knot: not a whole lot of style going on.  I picked up this skirt this week, and it will be perfect for summer as well (yay, elastic waists!). Also, a great tip for those blouses that will no longer button over the belly:  tie them in a cute knot!

This weekend I felt a lot of stretching in the belly area, and a little jolt in my energy (and appetite) levels.  The baby is certainly growing! Here's what's going on lately:

The 13 Week Rundown
Baby Size:  A peach! (so sweet!)
Feeling: I have felt so much better the past 3 or 4 days, but I am not getting my hopes up too soon. I think the sunshine and exercise definitely had something to do with it.  I'm so ready for it to be SPRING every day!
Weight gain:  I'm holding steady at about -6/7 pounds since my first appointment at 6 weeks.
Cravings/Aversions:  Root beer floats, fresh fruit, baby carrots.
Preparations:  This weekend, I got in the "baby closet" and took out more things to look at, wash, etc. including my slings, nursing cover, burp cloths, blankies, etc.  I also got out all my newborn "neutral" clothes and shoes ( in case!) I am looking through everything so we can save for the things we really need.

This morning, Aurora had ballet class, and now we're off to a playdate. I am still feeling tired after losing that hour of sleep, so naptime is going to be naptime for me too! And then we have a little afternoon adventure of shoe and sticker shopping (and maybe an iced coffee for mama!).  Have a great Monday!

Amanda

Etsy Window Shopping: Vintage Maternity Style

Cute, affordable maternity clothes...ah, the elusive beast. In recent years, women have been given many more options in the maternity world (most of them way overpriced). As for maternity clothes that are truly vintage? They're incredibly hard to find and often incredibly ugly.  But the thing is, you don't have to wear clothes that are labeled maternity--there are a few things to look for in "regular" clothes that might make them accommodating to your (my) growing belly. Look for elastic waists, tent shapes (very common in the 60s!), stretchy material, and longer lengths (like tunics).  Here are some vintage pieces I'm eyeing for my spring/summer maternity wardrobe (and they're all $35 and under!):

1. Floral Shirt Dress, $35  via Stranger Bird Vintage
I love red and white together, and this dress has an elastic waist, so you can sit it above the belly.

2. Cropped Denim Vest, $18  via shopbadlands
I picture wearing this vest over sundresses all summer (may also help to disguise burgeoning cleavage).

3. Huarache Sandals, $28 via generationthrift
Comfortable and cute sandals are a must!

4. Minnetonka Moccasins, $34 via redpoppyvintageshop
A pair of moccasins to take you and your bump everywhere.  Again: cute + comfortable..

5. Embroidered Floral Tent Top, $18 via elsierobyn
This top is absolutely lovely...you could add a belt at the natural waist (above the bump) to add definition, but it would also be pretty left loose.

6. Elastic Waist Embellished Skirt, $18.92 via Cobys
An elastic waisted beauty! Hike it up over the belly, and it will stay put.

7. Skinny Leather Belt, $10 via ThirdChanceVintage
The perfect accessory to add a little waist definition for tent-like items...a must for every maternity wardrobe!

It looks like my maternity style is going to be a little more bohemian than usual.  Late 60s and 70s styles are definitely much more forgiving. None of my 50s dresses have elastic waists (sad face), so they've all been packed away for next year. I thrifted a few similar items today on an impromptu "snowquester" adventure. Even though it seems like spring could be months away (and that this pregnancy is going to take FOREVER), warm weather (and a bigger bump) is just around the corner.

Do you have other tips for purchasing/styling maternity clothes, especially vintage pieces? We'd love to hear them!

Amanda

Shop Preview: Spring is in the Air

It's going to be 58 degrees in Virginia today! We may actually go outside!  Earlier this week, when it was in the low 40s, I started photographing some of our spring inventory.  Here are a few little peeks...I even created two outfits, just for something different to preview:

Tan Members Only-style jacket (women's XS/S), 90s Grunge Floral Mini Dress (Size M/L)

Feather Print Blouse (XS/S), Gunnies Prairie Skirt (S/M)

Handknit Sweater Dress and Cropped Cardigan (S/M)

1970s Leather Shoulder Bag w/ Brass Accents

1970s Tooled Leather Bag w/ Top Zipper

The pieces I have been finding are coming a lot from the 70s and the 90s, but I'm praying to the tift gods for some springy 50s and 60s pieces in my future (we're hitting a flea market this weekend, so we'll see what happens!)

As always, friends, if you see something you like and want to know more, drop us a message, convo comment, etc.

Splurge vs. Steal: Casual Cool

I have been noticing lately that while my closet has a of of adorable dresses and heels, I don't have a lot of outfits that I can just throw on to go grocery shopping or take Aurora to school and feel put together. I need to invest in a few more really good basics. And INVESTMENT is sometimes the right word, when you look at the prices on today's splurges: a simple black leather tote, a pair of campus boots, and a striped sweater. Luckily, our shop has you covered with some STEALS to help you get the look for so much less!

Black Leather Tote:  Gucci /// Miskabelle Vintage

Candy Striped Sweater:  Sonia Rykiel /// Miskabelle Vintage

Banana Leather Campus Boots:  Frye /// Miskabelle Vintage

Why SPLURGE when you can ind amazing, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces like these ones?

Shop Preview: Sweet 70s Style

We didn't really update the shop all December because the holidays were busy and we'd already super-stocked it for the holidays with the Holiday Lookbook pieces, etc. But that doesn't mean we haven't been shopping...and hoarding pretty pieces for winter and beyond!  These three beauties are coming to the shop in the next few days--and they would look great together!

Short Sleeves Embroidered Cardigan (Small), Qualicraft Suede Wedges (Size 8),
Crochet Purse with Marbled Plastic Handle

As always, if you see something you like, send us a message! Our friends/readers get first dibs on anything in these previews. ;)

On another note: SO glad it's almost Friday! Yesterday felt like the longest day in the world. Jayme and I are trying to get back in a groove, updating the shop and blog regularly and trying some new things so we can grow.

Modern Looks + Vintage Boots

Happy New Year's Eve! It's Amanda (and it's been a while!). We have been enjoying our holiday break, being lazy.  But sales have been keeping us pretty busy, and we're looking forward to lots of great things in the new year!

I am jealous of Jayme in Pennsylvania (as well as a lot of other bloggers) who has snow on the ground!  We had some snow that turned to rain and made things gross. If it's going to be cold, I'd at least like some pretty white stuff to look at.  I did some virtual shopping to create three snowy-weather looks with vintage boots from the shop (all 30% off until tomorrow). And in keeping with our thrifty theme, all the modern pieces are under $50 (most under $30 thanks to after-holiday sales and coupons!).

1. bohemian mini dress- $29.99, Tinley Road via Piperlime 2. colored tights- $28, Pretty Polly via RevolveClothing 3. slub knit cardigan - $49 via Dorothy Perkins 4. campus boots- $47.60
1. key print scarf -$10 via Old Navy 2. spaceknit sweater-$24.99, Tulle via Piperlime
3. skinny cords- $36.99 via Gap 4. vintage hiking boots-$30.10

1. striped beanie-$24.99 via Gap  2. graphic tee - $16.99, Junk Food via 6pm.com 3. belted cardigan-$35 via Old Navy  4. coated skinny jeans-$29.99, BDG via Urban Outfitters,

Which look is your favorite for a cold day? I would love a good pair of campus boots of my own to wear with tights and dresses...

Happy almost-new-year, friends!

Amanda

Sister Style Off: Holiday Shopping

We're excited to feature a new segment on the blog today...Jayme and I were never super competitive, even though we are close in age. We always just kind of had our own "things": Jayme is an artist and I'm a writer. We both did dance and cheerleading, but were often in the same class, etc.

But there's nothing wrong with a little competition when it's about putting together a cute (secondhand!) outfit. We started with the same building block piece--some great dark skinny jeans--and paired them with items from the shop.

It's the time of year for trips to the mall or the city--here is what we'd wear for a day of toting bags and eating food court junk.

Amanda's picks: sweater /// booties /// tote
To Style:  Cuff jeans at ankles.
Jayme's picks: vest  /// boots /// bag
To Style:  Add a soft cotton baseball tee (like this one) underneath!
Gap Jeans (super sale!)

Whick look is more your style?
