Shop Preview (& Baby Gender Reveal!): Blue-sy

Okay, so I guess the title of this post gives it away, but:

In honor of the baby boy, here's a little BLUE themed shop preview!  Another plus?  All of these items are actually maternity friendly or actual vintage maternity pieces!  Yes, I know, I should keep them for myself.  But so far I'm digging my stretchy pants and long tank tops...so I'm not sure I'd get enough wear out of them.  Lucky you!

Have a great weekend!

Shop Preview: The Last of the Summer Dresses

Jayme loves summer while I (Amanda) am a diehard autumn person.  While I'm happy to see September on the horizon, I will miss wearing my favorite sundresses (although in Virginia weather, a lot of them work great with cardigans since it's not officially fall until late October, sometimes later). We took lots of summer dresses to our markets this summer, but we have many left...so they're coming to our online shop! Here is a little preview of some favorites:

Top Row: 1980s Cherry Print Cotton Dress (size M/L) /// 1940s Mustard Plaid Cotton Housedress (Size M) /// 70s Alfred Shaheen Floral Sundress (Size M/L)

Bottom Row: 1970s Swiss Dot and Lace Sundress (Size L/XL) /// 1950s Plaid Cotton Housedress w/ Belt (Size L) /// 1970s Sears Cotton Chevron Sundress (Size M)

If you see something that interests you, let us know! We can get you more details. Most will be around the $25-$35 range.

Shop Preview: Sandals!

Here is a little sneak peak at some vintage sandals, coming soon to the shop!

I love the worn-in leather quality of vintage sandals.  These all have a rather 90's vibe to them (my favorite are the twins-- white or black with silver medallions on top and a low heel!), which I am also a fan of.  In case I haven't mentioned before.  ; )
Keeps your eyes peeled for these babies in the shop in the coming week!

Shop Preview: Pretty in (Hot) Pink

I got both of these dresses right before Valentine's Day and it was really too late to get them into the shop, but they are so gorgeous that it doesn't need to be a holiday to wear them.  Hot pink is a bold color choice for those ladies who want to stand out in a crowd...I love the silhouette of both, even though they put off very different vibes:

1. Victor Costa Silk and Velvet Peplum Dress /// 2. Early 70s Gathered Satin Party Dress w/ Bow

This is the first Victor Costa piece I've found, and it's seriously immaculate. The details kill me, especially the bodice, which looks so much like a flower.  The party dress has a layer of tulle underneath, and the bow is super-sweet. I think it would make a fantastic prom dress for a hip high schooler!

Which one's your favorite? They'll both be coming to the shop later this week!

Amanda

Shop Preview: Last of the Sweaters

We got some teasing from the sunshine this week...we have been updating the shop with some last winter things, with more to come!  We are so excited for spring, and we're stocking up on pretty pastels and florals--as well as our usual favorites (leather bags, shoes, belts, etc.)!

Column 1:  Vintage United Colors of Benetton Celadon Wool Sweater Dress (Size M/L) / 70s Woven Fringe Poncho (OSFM)

Column 2:  80s Southwestern Sweater (Size M) / 90s Slouchy Ramie/Cotton Striped Sweater (Size M/L)

As always, let us know if you want more details about anything in the preview before it heads into the shop!

OTHER STUFF:
  • The shop is 30% off (even new items!) until next Friday, the 28th
  • We're going to be blogging more...promise!
  • We will be at the very first week of District Flea...it's Saturday, April 5th, so come on out and see us! (And pray for great weather.)
Have an awesome weekend!

Celebrity Looks for Less / Shop Preview : Well Suited

We have some great two piece suits coming to the shop this week.  Personally I would have nowhere to wear something like this, but I still appreciate the beautiful details and impeccable tailoring on these vintage suits.
While watching the Golden Globes last night, I noticed Diane Keaton's black tux looked eerily similar to the one we're adding to the shop and I thought I'd find some other celebrity look-a-likes, to show some great examples of how to wear these suits.

Diane Keaton // Olivia Wilde
Both with very different takes on the black tux.

OURS: 1970's Corduroy Suit with Silky Lapel and Tuxedo Stripe Pants

Kate Middleton // Stella McCartney
These Brits know how to pull off a demure suit!  Perfectly fitted and navy blue.

OURS: 1950's Navy Suit with Cinched Waist

Vanessa Hudgens // Zoe Saldana // Lizzy Caplan
Bare midriff and full skirt...not quite "suits", but they have that matching / two-piece thing going on.

OURS: 1940's Green Suit with Cropped Jacket and Full Skirt

Kind of cool to see three different decades of suits--or four, if you count the modern celebrity versions! All of these items have really cool details that you can see more of in the listings on Etsy.  Coming this week!

cream dress with sheer lace sleeves and lace up front

All three of these beauties had the same previous owner and are the same size (approximately size medium/ 6).  If you'd like first dibs on anything, just message us!

Shop Preview: For Your Feet

Hey friends. Sorry we've been slow here on the blogging end.  We are a little low on creative energy since we're both working part-time and taking care of our girls on top of all the Miskabelle stuff, so the blog often falls down on the priority list. But we're trying to plan ahead and get back in a groove--even sharing a new feature tomorrow!

Today I'm giving you a quick sneak peek into some great shoes coming into the shop this week--some have been to the Flea a time or two (we'll be there this weekend!), others are new on all fronts:

Column 1:  Vintage Leather + Sweater Booties, Vintage Etienne Aigner Leather Buckle Booties, Vintage Bass Two Tone Oxfords, 70s Sebago Chunky Loafers, 60s Brown Mary Jane heels

Column 2:  80s Ivory Edwardian Style Booties, 70s Suede and Sherpa High Heel Clogs, 60s Red Leather T-Straps, 80s Red Bow Flats, 80s Red Flower Peeptoe Heels

These shoes represent a variety of sizes for once (not just 6/6.5 like so many vintage shoes we find!).  Let us know if you see something you like or have any questions in advance!

Shop Preview: Rainbow of Reds

Although black and brown are seen as the most "easy" to wear shoe tones, I do think if you were to have a third 'basic' in your shoe wardrobe, red would be the way to go. A sassy pop of color for your feet.  Lately I've come across a slew of red-hued shoes for the shop.  Here's a little preview:

1.  red suede oxfords, 2. peep toe espadrille wedges
3.  pointy toe stilettos with ankle strap
4.  stacked wood heel pumps, 5.  burgundy bow topped wedges

All will be in the shop soon!

Shop Preview: Across the Decades

It's no secret that our shop is a little eclectic...just like our own styles! While we each gravitate toward our own decades, we try our best to stock the shop with any piece we fall in love with (or know you'll love!), regardless of decade.  Here are four sweet pieces on their way into the shop, from the 50s to the 80s:

1960s Mod Gold Sparkle Party Dress w/ Bow (S/M)
1970s Floor Length Peach and Beige Lace Nightgown (L)
1980s Strapless Floral Sweetheart Bathing Suit (M/L)

Let us know if you need more details about any item in our shop preview before it comes to the shop--we're happy to answer your questions and give you first go at them!

Keep cool out there, friends...

Shop Preview: Sneakers, Wovens, Heels

I am still working through photographing my haul from our Chambersburg trip.  This morning I got through most of the shoes.  We were really on the hunt for great vintage sandals but didn't stumble across much (one pair, that's shown below.  and I wish so badly they were my size!).  In the process we did find some other great shoes...

SNEAKERS

WOVENS

HEELS

All coming to the shop in the next few days!  Keep your eyes peeled.
Happy Friday!

Shop Preview: Babe-ing Suits

Aurora has gotten in the habit of combining two words she knows into one word, making for some pretty hilarious phrases. One of those is "babing suit" (babe + bathing suit).  In a quick thrift stop, I found
these three amazing suits this week, and in honor of my trip to the beach, they're coming to the shop ASAP!

1. 1960s Floral Maillot w/ Removeable Strap by Elisabeth Stewart (Size S)
2. 1980s Deadstock Floral Wrap Suit by Dippers (Size S/M)
3.  1960s High Waisted Bikini with Ties by Sirena (Size M)

The wrap bathing suit is really cool--I haven't seen a similar style before. The floral maillot really reminds me of something I've seen in the Anthropologie catalog. And the two piece is total 60s bombshell material.  I feel sad that I won't be wearing any of these at the beach!

But you can...

Oh, and there's one more suit coming to the shop, but it's a little smaller (size 12 months!)

Vintage Deadstock Minnie Mouse Bathing Suit (Size 12 Months)

Happy swimming!

Amanda

I have always been a lover of dresses, and when I'm shopping for vintage, they're my first stop (after shoes!).    We have a whole slew of pretty ones coming to the shop in the next couple days. Here's a sneak peek:
Column 1:  1950s Plaid Sundress w/ Pockets (XS) /// 1940s Rayon Contrast Dress (XL) ///
1970s Gingham Sweetheart Sundress (M)

Column 2:  1970s Red Tie Sundress (M to L) /// 1960s Tent Dress w/ Pockets (great for maternity--or belted on most sizes!) /// 1980s Polka Dot Casual Dress (L)

If something is striking your fancy, just let us know...a few of these will go up today, and everything is already priced--just need to finish getting full measurements!

We are just 2 little sales away from 1500! That's an exciting number. Help us get there b he end of this month?--there's a special coupon code on our FB page for followers that goes until the end of this month (wink, wink).
