Shop Preview: Something for Everyone

The shop has been somewhat quiet lately. We've been focusing some of our energy on the Flea Market, some of it on other opportunities outside of vintage. But I have a few stacks of vintage goodies that have been waiting to get their pictures taken so they can go online, including these 6 pairs of truly awesome shoes, in a variety of styles (and some larger "normal" sizes, i.e. NOT 5's!):

Row 1: 80s satin heels w/ gold embroidery, size 8 /// 50s Deadstock Lavender Canvas Mary Jane Heels, size 8.5/9 /// 60s Rhinestone Pilgrim Heels, size 9N

Row 2:  Vintage Pink and Cream Tretorn Sneakers, size 7 /// Vintage Black and White Leather Spectators, Size 8 /// Vintage White-on-White Tretorn Sneakers, size 7

If you're interested in any of the beauties (they'll be going up the next two days) before they're in the shop, send us a message/comment/email!

Splurge vs. Steal / Spring Shoes

I love, LOVE boots.  They are definitely my top footwear choice.  But now that it's spring I need to start considering other shoes to add to my arsenal.  Obviously, vintage is the way to go--especially for my (tiny) budget!  Here are some great spring shoes and their vintage counterparts, for sale in the shop RIGHT NOW!

SHOP MISKABELLE VINTAGE:
oxfords  //  ankle booties  //  clogs

Okay, so I realize the western ankle bootie is technically a "boot", but like the oxford and clog, I think it is a great Spring transition piece, so I'm including it anyway! We have lots of other great shoes for both warm and cold weather in our vintage arsenal, so SHOP your little heart out!

Shop Preview: For Your Feet

Hey friends. Sorry we've been slow here on the blogging end.  We are a little low on creative energy since we're both working part-time and taking care of our girls on top of all the Miskabelle stuff, so the blog often falls down on the priority list. But we're trying to plan ahead and get back in a groove--even sharing a new feature tomorrow!

Today I'm giving you a quick sneak peek into some great shoes coming into the shop this week--some have been to the Flea a time or two (we'll be there this weekend!), others are new on all fronts:

Column 1:  Vintage Leather + Sweater Booties, Vintage Etienne Aigner Leather Buckle Booties, Vintage Bass Two Tone Oxfords, 70s Sebago Chunky Loafers, 60s Brown Mary Jane heels

Column 2:  80s Ivory Edwardian Style Booties, 70s Suede and Sherpa High Heel Clogs, 60s Red Leather T-Straps, 80s Red Bow Flats, 80s Red Flower Peeptoe Heels

These shoes represent a variety of sizes for once (not just 6/6.5 like so many vintage shoes we find!).  Let us know if you see something you like or have any questions in advance!

Splurge vs. Steal : Fall Shoes

It seems as though vintage shops have become a dime a dozen, especially on Etsy.  At Miskabelle, we try to keep our shop full of items that are special and on-trend.  Whether classic or quirky, we want to be sure that our shop has things that we can picture our friends or ourselves wearing.  And of course, we want to offer these pieces at a great price!

Here a few Miskabelle vintage shoes for fall (the steals!) and their pricey of-the-now counterparts (the splurges!):

Shop Preview: Rainbow of Reds

Although black and brown are seen as the most "easy" to wear shoe tones, I do think if you were to have a third 'basic' in your shoe wardrobe, red would be the way to go. A sassy pop of color for your feet.  Lately I've come across a slew of red-hued shoes for the shop.  Here's a little preview:

1.  red suede oxfords, 2. peep toe espadrille wedges
3.  pointy toe stilettos with ankle strap
4.  stacked wood heel pumps, 5.  burgundy bow topped wedges

All will be in the shop soon!

Shop Preview: Sneakers, Wovens, Heels

I am still working through photographing my haul from our Chambersburg trip.  This morning I got through most of the shoes.  We were really on the hunt for great vintage sandals but didn't stumble across much (one pair, that's shown below.  and I wish so badly they were my size!).  In the process we did find some other great shoes...

SNEAKERS

WOVENS

HEELS

All coming to the shop in the next few days!  Keep your eyes peeled.
Happy Friday!

Splurge vs. Steal: Shoes

The thing I love so much about shoes is that they can completely change an outfit.  Switch to glam heels from a pair of flats and you turn a LBD into something slightly more glamorous.  I have more shoes in my collection than I'd probably like to confess here, although I'm a HUGE sale shopper (and, of course, there's a healthy dose of thrift/vintage in there!).  Here are some pairs of vintage shoes in the shop that pair a strong resemblance to MUCH pricier designer ones:

All three pairs are in the shop now...go get 'em before they're gone! (And check out the rest of the shop while you're there...we've been stocking up on sundresses and pretty bags!)

Shop Preview: Shoe-be-doo-be-doo

Go ahead and make fun of the title--it was the first thing that popped in my head (I'm only halfway done with my coffee, and it was an early morning).  I got a little sunlight yesterday, and so I did a quick photo shoot of shoes and accessories. We have quite a variety of styles and sizes coming to the shop in the next few days!

Column 1:  80s cutout leather slip ons (size 8.5/9), 90s lace up sandals (size 7.5), 80s red leather nautical flats (size 9),
80s white cutout wedges (size 6.5), 70s tan cutout sandals (size 6.5)
Column 2:  90s does 70s platform oxfords(size 9/9.5), Vintage Green Suede Smoking Shoes (size 6),
Vintage Minnetonka Driving Mocs (size 10), 80s Beaded Metallic Cushioned Moccasins (size 8/8.5-wider width)

And as always, if you see something you like and want to know more details, just get in touch with us via email, a comment, or an Etsy convo!

Shop Preview: Lucky Number [Size] Seven

Here is the first look at our vintage haul from our weekend trip to West Virginia.  I'm convinced that this group of shoes all had the same previous owner-- a size 7 woman with a penchant for quirky designs, bright colors and subtly sexy kitten heels.

1- cobalt blue, double ankle straps (that criss cross at the back!)
2- chambray toe with blue criss cross straps on top and a low wedge heel
3- graphic black and white sandals with wrap around ankle straps
4- colorblocked slingbacks in turquoise, bright blue and mauve
5-  the sister pair to number 4:  colorblocked slingbacks in plum purple, hot pink and red

If you are also a lucky size 7 (or know someone who is!) and have your eye on one of these lovely pairs of shoes, message us for first dibs!

Girls Will Be Boys--Vintage Footwear Trend!

Out: sky high stilettos that make you walk like you're on stilts and make your feet feel, after five minutes, like they're about to fall off.

In:
Footwear inspired by the men's section...brogues, oxfords, and loafers. And the best news of all? They all have flats or chunky heels, so you can wear them all day and look chic, but still be comfortable. I love double-duty fashion!

Don't believe us?
Check out some pics of these much-blogged about fashion darlings:

How do you make this trend your own? We can help! Check out the variety of fantastic footwear we just posted in our shop (below). Just add skinny jeans, knee socks, mini skirts...anything a little schoolgirl or preppy inspired, but don't forget to add an edge (chunky jewelry, studs, a pop of color) just to keep yourself from looking like you're still wearing your leftover Catholic School Halloween costume.

Featured above (Click on pic to go to site and purchase!):

1. Leather Bow Flat, Size 8.5, $30
2. White Woven Leather Slip-on Oxford, Size 7, $35
3. Blue Etienne Aigner Fringe Loafer, Size 6, $40
4. Black Woven Leather Pointy-Toe Oxford, Size 9W, $25
5. Bass Woven Leather Chunky Loafer, Size 7, $25
6. Tan Suede Oxford, Size 7.5, $30

Come and get yourself some cute shoes...also, even though Black Friday is still a few days away, we've already started our HOT HOT HOLIDAY SALE! Buy 2 items, get one free! We're also including handmade gift tags, when requested, for any purchases from our shop that will be given as holiday gifts. So start shopping with us and find special, one-of-a-kind pieces for all your stylish loved ones!

So excited for turkey dinners on Thursday...and a reason to dress up a bit! Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for your support, kind words, blog-reading, purchases, friendship, and love!

Stay gorgeous,
A
Miskabelle
