Celebrity Looks for Less: The Long and Short of It

I feel like maxi skirts and dresses seem so easy for summer months.  Pair with sandals and you're done.  But I haven't ever tried anything floor length during the winter...because I was confused as to HOW.  In my search for answers I came up with one conclusion--pair the long with the short (so, the opposite of what Cake had in mind*)--a maxi dress/skirt looks adorable under a cropped jacket.  Here's how the celebs do it (Rachel Bilson just happened to end up being both my examples because she, is like, the queen of all things maxi--eh, maybe I shouldn't word it that way?  ha.) and how YOU can do it too, using pieces from the Miskabelle shop!

I think both these looks would work with black boots hidden underneath.
The Miskabelle pieces are all for sale in the shop now!

Spring Things on the Way

It's been a little while since we blogged...we're brainstorming up some new ideas and keeping busy with our many (many!) orders. Thank you so much to all our encouraging friends, readers, and supporters!  It looks like April may be our best selling month yet, and for that, we are so grateful. :)

Took advantage of yesterday's summer light to get some photos of items coming to the shop in the next day or two!  See something you like?  Let us know!

Red Pleated Silk Christian Dior, Khaki Button-Front Pocket Skirt, Floral Grunge Maxi Skirt, 60s Velvet and Lace Panel Maxi Skirt, Brown Floral Maxi Skirt, White Hot Leather Mini Skirt (genuine 80s!)

Brown Embroidered Full Skirt (amazing!), Bright Black Cotton Elastic Waist Skirt or Tube Dress (as style), Turquoise Print One Button Blazer, Black and Beige Print Palazzo Pants

These items (and more!) will be on sale soon...we've already added more this week.  Have you checked out the shop recently?  You should!

Stay tuned for some more Spring Trends blogs, outfit posts, Splurge and Steals, and more!

Oufit Post: Maxi-mum Comfort

It's another gorgeous spring day here in Northern Virginia.  Of course, I got all excited and checked the weekend temperatures for when  Jayme and family come to visit us and the Cherry Blossom Festival happens, and....rain and high 40s/low 50s.  Super.  Really fun to go out and do stuff.  That really grinds my gears.

I was excited to show off my new daniBlack platforms.  They were the only not-really-comfortable things about this outfit.  I have to break them in a little, build up those sandal callouses.  But the rest of the outfit is my new everyday spring uniform:  flowy tops and bottoms with structured jackets/blazers.  And of course, platforms whenever I can.

jacket-UO, lacy top-?, maxi dress worn as skirt-Old Navy, platforms-daniBlack
my new crush.
I just realized I'm not wearing anything vintage, though every piece has a distinctly vintage feel to it (the jacket is from UO's Urban Renewal line, so it may, in fact, be vintage...).  I must say, I am loving the maxi skirt and dress look for spring.  And no: not just because it means I have to shave less of my legs.  Or because it will hide my cellulite. (Though those are definite perks.) I just love the bohemian, 70s vibe.

Enjoy the sun while it lasts!  Sigh.

Amanda
