Music to Our Eyes: Joy Williams

I have been a music lover since my earliest memory.  I've shared a little on the blog about my band, The Crooked Hearts--it's just me, on vocals, and my friend Jason on guitar/vocals.  Simple and pared down. Lots of harmonies. Jason and I met and started collaborating over our love for the band The Civil Wars, a male/female duo made up of  Joy Williams and John Paul White.

Their music is the stuff dreams are made of.  And so is Joy's wardrobe.  She can get away with a wardrobe of all black by mixing textures and cuts and adding some sparkle with accessories.  Her dresses may not be vintage, but they are certainly vintage-inspired:  1950s full skirted dresses and Hollywood siren-worthy gowns. I scoured some of my favorite Etsy vintage shops for some Joy-inspired looks.

Joy is absolutely stunning, but it's her voice and stage presence that really takes the cake. Go and check out their music if you haven't already--better yet, see a live show! (Though it may be a while, since Joy recently had her first child.)

We look forward to sharing more "Music to Our Eyes" posts with you!  Whose rockstar wardrobe do you want to steal?

Amanda
