Outfit Post: Big Tease

We're back with an outfit post!!! Because it wasn't snowing or raining or below zero outside and therefore, we were able to take some pictures in natural lighting.

I wore this to church on Sunday (whoops--a little more cleavage than I thought when I looked in the mirror, but it's tasteful...right?).  I found this hairstyle on Pinterest the other night and it's super easy and I love it, so you're probably going to get bored of seeing me wearing my hair this way.

Outfit details:  dress- Hazel (thrifted), belt-vintage, earrings-random, tights-Target, boots-Dolce Vita (gift)
*I would have preferred the outfit without tights, but it's not that warm and also, my shaving is lacking.

The Hair.  (see the how-to and follow me on Pinterest here!)

Flowers are coming up all over the yard! Hopefully they don't die this week.

This dress is lacy and romantic and everything I'm dreaming about for spring. In fact, I did a spring-heavy vintage shopping trip this week and everything is very 70s/bohemian. Hoping to style everything into a lookbook for Spring (!).

We are busy around these parts, trying to get the blog back up and running regularly, getting new items into the online shop, and planning for future events...we hope you'll keep coming back to see what we're up to (and what we're wearing!).

Music to Our Eyes: Florence Welch

Even though Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine had already made her mark overseas, she and her quirky style only exploded onto the US scene a few years ago.  We love her music (though still, admittedly, more a fan of Lungs than Ceremonials), and the way she incorporates vintage pieces into her wardrobe, which is a little bit boho, a little bit gothic.  She is super cool and quirky--you can guarantee she won't be showing up to a party wearing the same thing as someone else (and that's what we love about vintage too!).

Think you can pull of one of Flo's looks, head to toe? Maybe just a piece or two?

Outfit Post: Summer's End

Hello everyone!  We had a fantastic weekend camping with the family, but after wearing the same jeans for three days in the row (and avoiding the community shower), I decided to get a little dolled up for the Labor Day holiday.  We spent the day doing a little thrifting (crazy 50% off day), grocery shopping, and dinner...and I really did indeed wear this.

My style is evolving...I have a vision of all the things I love and how they might come together. There are looks I love on other people that are just not me or don't fit my body the right way (making me feel less than confident).  I love girly and bohemian looks, but also rock and roll...so I'm taking cues from that (and a lot of back...since I'm buying and dressing on a budget, and everything black matches! ha.) to create my fall wardrobe and clean out items from my closet.  I also love that with a cap sleeve maxi dress in basic black/ivory, I can add color or cardigans/jackets/accessories and make it a totally different look.  To keep it simple, I added a vintage pendant and platform sandals.

I loved this dress on the rack, but I knew it could look a little mom-ish.  Still, it fit into the categories of the things I love, and it makes me feel comfortable and confident.  And even though it's somewhat simple, it also has the great detail on the bodice (front and back). I'm a sucker for a good detail.

So excited to share new looks with you for the cooler months!

Amanda
