Our Vintage Redesigns: The First Preview!

We mentioned a little while back that we're venturing into new areas in both the shop and the blog.   The idea that's encompassed in all this is making use of things you already have, spending very little, re-using/recycling, etc.  That's just always something Amanda and and I have naturally done in most every part of our lives.  It's fun to try to see the good in things that are already in front of you, rather than constantly buying NEW NEW NEW...  and it is also a great way to reduce your carbon footprint.

With all that said... we have been diligently working on redesigning some vintage pieces that just needed some extra love.  A great fabric, or detail may have caught our eye when we first bought the piece, but flaws or ill-fits caused us to not post them to the shop.  Instead of tossing them, we're making these pieces new again and one of kind, at that.  Here is the first look at Miskabelle's redesigned vintage line...

BEFORE
We couldn't pass up this adorable butterfly print... but the dress was such a strange and unflattering fit.

AFTER
Chopped in half and reconstructed, we have a cropped blouse and a simple mini skirt.

Want to see more?  Well, we will be finalizing our vintage redesigns lookbook very soon--so you'll get to see the pieces on real live models.  We are so excited to share more of our creations with you!

  3. Adorable! You girls are amazing, can't wait to see more! Maybe some tutorials too? I know you don't want to give away ALL your secrets, but I have a bag of thrifted goodies that I want to breath some new life into but have no idea where to start...
