Music to Our Eyes: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has become quite a popular musician as of late, especially to "fashion people" (I can't even count how many tweets I saw during fashion week, from bloggers attending shows, talking about how Lana Del Rey's music was used in seemingly EVERY show).  Well, it seems as though not only is she garnering attention for her music but also her sense of style--which closely mimics her music--with it's 50's/60's vibe meets new age/indie sound.

Seems like an odd mix--the ladylike 50's silhouettes bouffants and flower crowns, mixed with 90's grunge rocker t-shirts and cut off shorts.  But she makes it make sense.

You can get Lana's look by mixing and matching these vintage pieces, found in some of our favorite etsy shops!
1.  High top sneakers via Dressed Up Like a Lady (google "Lana Del Rey" and you'll see she rocks these quite frequently--with dresses.)

2. Chunky rope chain necklace via Miskabelle (it even has a heart at the end of the chain in the back!)

3.  Floral head piece via Flannery Crane

4.  Sleeveless button up via shopCOLLECT (wear it buttoned up the whole way to the neck.)

5.  Levi's high rise cut-offs via Miskabelle

6.  Vintage Harley tee via ShopExile

7.  Floral statement ring via MaejeanVintage

8.  50's-esque lace dress via PARASOLvintage (pair with a funky belt.)

What musician's style are you into right now?

  1. Jayme,

Great post! We love Lana Del Rey's music and her style! I also love Jenny Lewis (of the band Rilo Kiley)- she is talented and has an amazing sense of fashion. She wears a lot of vintage, which we love! ;-)

    Thanks for including our ring!

    Warmly,

  2. Is it wrong to say I'm not sure whether I like her music? I have a love/hate relationship.

    1. We feel exactly the same way! But no denying she's interesting and has an individual sense of style...
