Celebrity Looks for Less: Prints

When shopping for vintage,  the main thing that draws my eye is an interesting print.  Vintage fabrics not only offer unique patterns and color combinations, but are often much better quality than modern day cottons and polyesters-- that is, unless you can afford to shop designer labels.  These celebrities are showcasing some pretty awesome printed pieces that most likely had awesomely high price tags.  But we have the vintage look-a-likes currently in the shop!

Kristen Wiig
patterned midi skirt with gold hues

Olivia Palermo
robe front, long sleeve dress with burgundy hues

Sarah Jessica Parker
striped, button front midi skirt

And despite what some may think-- prints ARE easy to wear!  I love that Kristen Wiig takes a super interesting skirt and pairs it with a simple white blouse.  So easy!  Or you could go the SJP route and do print on print...if you are a little more brave.

Celebrity Looks for Less: Summer Florals

I am definitely big into florals when it comes to summer time dressing.  We just happen to have the shop stocked with a lot of great flower print sundresses-- and few are awfully similar to dresses recently seen on some lovely celebrity ladies.

Emmy Rossum
in a bright floral sleeveless shift dress.  Our version is a little more daring with its neon hues but has the same ladylike shape.  Miskabelle 1960s Neon Floral Shift Dress, $28

Dita Von Teese
in a tropical print wrap dress.  Our version has that same waist-cinching fit, but perhaps with a bit more structure.  Miskabelle 80's Does 50's Floral Wiggle Dress, $36

Sarah Jessica Parker
wears a floral print dress with a plunging neckline.  Our version's print is eerily similar to SJP's designer dress, but a little more flowy and casual (and less va va voom).  Miskabelle 1990's Grunge Floral Maxi Dress, $38
Here's to flower power (and great vintage for great prices)!  Happy Friday. : )

Celebrity Looks for Less: Inspired By vs. Inspiring

Often times these "Celebrity Looks for Less" posts are inspired by a photo of an actress we just happen to see and think "that _______ looks exactly like one we have in the Miskabelle shop!"  Or other times I am inspired by pieces already in the shop that I think are great "in"/on-trend things, and I'll search for a photo of a celebrity wearing something similar.

This post has one of each.

Sarah Jessica Parker in an uber girl polka dot frock.  The resemblance to our vintage piece is uncanny!  And I love that she paired it with those bright pink heels.

Selma Blair sports a completely opposite look-- a head to toe menswear inspired outfit.  Plaid button down, worn-in denim, and loafers.

I love the idea of using the vintage dress with modern accessories... and I also love the fact that you can have a head to toe vintage outfit that looks completely modern in its own right!
