Oh yeah: my favorite thrift had all of their boots out last week. And I squealed a little bit. While I didn't find the boots of my dreams, I did find a lot of great ones...and we already have some pretty cool ones in the shop. I already have 3 (or 4) different pairs of black boots. So I'll share...
1. 1980s Classic Black Leather Pirate Boot, Size 8 (coming soon!)
2. 1970s Black Leather Knee High Boot with Wooden Heel, Size 6.5 (coming soon!)
3. Vintage Suede Mid Calf Boot with Gold Embellishment, Size 7
4. Wood Heel Pirate Boot (folds down too!), Size 6.5 (coming soon!)
5. Black Suede Edwardian Style Lace Up Booties, Size 6.5 (coming soon!)
If you're a 6.5, I envy you. Honesty, the best shoes I find anywhere are almost always a 6.5. Is this because you are rare? Or because you are everywhere, you tiny-footed creatures?
We have even MORE black boots here, here and here (looove these). Which pair is your fave?
xo,
Amanda

This Weekend in DC: The First Ever Miskabelle Vintage Pop-Up Shop!
I was excited to have the lovely editors of luri & wilma, DC's Eco-Chic magazine, over to my studio a few weeks ago to pick vintage for their fall issue. I love what they are doing, so it was an honor, and I can't wait to see the final product! For the launch of their fall issue, they are throwing a release party this Saturday evening at Ginger Root Design--and I'm going to be there, along with Butler & Claypool Collective, selling looks from the issue (and more!).
So come and see me in person--and if you mention the blog, I'll give you a discount...deal? But seriously, I'd love to give you a hug and help you find something pretty (and eco-chic) to wear for fall. If you're looking for boots and bags, I'm your girl. The stock is killer.
Here are more details or you can just go get your ticket here! I really do hope to see you there!
xo,
Amanda
(P.S. There will be Crunkcakes...which I believe are some wonderful combination of alcohol and cupcake, so basically: pure awesome.)

Jayme's Fall Vintage Wishlist
Today it's my turn to share a few things from Etsy that I've been lusting after for my fall wardrobe. I honestly don't peruse vintage shops on Etsy all that often because part of me just loves the thrill of finding that perfect jacket/pair of boots/etc. on my own--hidden beneath thrift store rubble (for a crazy low price tag). BUT I certainly would consider making these pieces my own, if I don't happen to find their twins at the local thrift any time soon.
Did you check out Amanda's picks yet? I think you'd be surprised to see how much our lists differ!
