Spring 2014 Drugstore Beauty Products: The Game Changers

I love going in Sephora and looking at all the fancy makeups (and inhaling a billion different kinds of perfume) and I have a few pricey staples in my cosmetics bag. But drugstore makeup is fun and these days, it's really performing as well as some of the fancy brands.

Today, I wanted to share four products with you that I'm absolutely loving for spring:

EYES:  NYC Velvet Liner in BLACK WINE
I already loved NYC's liner in classic black, but I saw this color, which is like a deep red wine, and I fell in love. It really brings out the green in my hazel eyes, and it's a lighter color alternative for spring.

LIPS: Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in As You Want Victoria
I got to try a free tube of this lipstick through Influenster. I have to admit, I was a little afraid of the bright color, but it's really fun! And the best part is that this lipstick is so soft and smooth, it felt like putting on my favorite chapstick. Especially as the weather is in transition, lip moisturizing is essential!

FACE: Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask
Forget about their classic Apricot Scrub. I got a sample of this a while ago through KLOUT, along with two other masks, and I just got around to trying it.  Oh my goodness. It smells good, it warms up while it's on your face, and when I was done scrubbing, my face (even some of that dry winter skin) was incredibly smooth and bright. I'm in love.

NAILS:  NYC Matte Me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat
For the past six months, I'd been really wanting a matte black polish.  Then I read about this top coat, which turns any color matte--and the best part? It's under $5! I have done it over a mint green and a deep burgundy and love the finish. It also helped the cheaper polishes last longer. WIN-WIN!

I found all of these at Rite Aid, but I bet CVS and Walgreen's will have them too. And if you prefer to shop online, try drugstore.com.

Do you have any drugstore beauty products you'd recommend for spring? Let me know!

xo,
Amanda

  1. Yeah, this is a great collection. I also love discount Zara offers when it comes to own something designer at reasonable price. Last month, I shopped beautiful shades of nail paint from an online store.
