Mid-Summer Trends

Summer seems to be flying by and as we approach mid-July we here at Miskabelle are checking out the trends and making sure we have vintage versions of our favorites in stock.  Here are the top 5 trends (based on some celeb-stalking, fashion blog-following, website-browsing, and magazine-perusing) we are digging so far this summer...

1. Maxi Skirts....So excited that these forgiving skirts are making their way back in fashion!  We have a few in our shop right now, but this black tie waist one is a favorite because it can easily be taken from day to night with the right accessories and a pair of strappy metallic sandals (and its similarity to the one pictured here on MK is uncanny!).  miskabelle vintage black tie waist maxi skirt, $28

2.  Cross Body Satchels....I am definitely one of those gals who carries everything but the kitchen sink in her purse, but I love a mini cross body bag to carry along at festivals/amusement parks/concerts in the summer.  You can only fit the essentials but it is a amazing to be hands-free...and I love that these bags can almost replace a necklace as an accessory.  miskabelle vintage red and brown leather cross body bag, $18

3.  Print/Harem Pants.... Certainly not the easiest of styles to pull off, but these high waisted, peg-leg pants are super on trend right now.  For the even braver fashionista, we love them in a fun print (of course our celeb inspiration here is Chloe Sevigny--the bravest of the brave fashionistas).  miskabelle fuschia tropical floral harem pants, $30

4.  Panama Hat... I have always been a hat-lover.  My earliest hat loving memory=The Secret Life of Alex Mack....I was obsessed with Larisa Oleynik's backwards baseball cap fashion statement.  On a more grown up level, I love a summery fedora/panama hat.  I think it can instantly transform anyone from 'plain-jane' to 'incognito trendsetter.'  miskabelle vintage summer handmade panama hat with red band, $18

5.  Sailor Stripes....This trend seems to keep popping up every spring/summer--and I love it!  Something so chic and French about stripes... Vintage clothing is SUCH an inexpensive and eco-friendly way to keep up with the ever-changing trends....and we love being able to share our finds with you!
