Outfit Post / Review / Giveaway: Ready For My Close Up and Obiqo Skincare

When I turned 30 last year (that still feels weird to type/say out loud) I began to really accept the fact that I'm aging.  I can no longer spend my summers baking in the sun without sunscreen (I shouldn't have done it in the first place) and I need to take some action to help remedy the damage I've already done.  I tried a couple different night creams and eye creams, but none had really impressed me.  I have really sensitive skin and a lot of time the skin under my eyes would burn and tingle from my drug store eye cream and I even would wake up with puffy eyes.  I was super excited to be approached by Obiqosea-inspired skincare range that combines "nutrient-rich sea kelp from New Zealand’s pristine waters and the powerful anti-oxidant properties of French organic sea lavender".  I love the idea of natural ingredients, not to mention, the products are derived from sustainable sources.  The Restoring Night Cream and Smoothing Eye Cream arrived in pretty packaging and the subtle scents were really lovely.  I have been using both for a couple months now and my skin definitely feels much more hydrated.  The creams feel good going on (no burning!) and gives an immediate dewy look.  I love that it takes just a small dab to cover your face--which means an already affordable product will last quite a while.  I'm hoping with continued use, those fine lines will slow down their creeping!

It's a great feeling to feel good about your skin.  I love that I can ease up on the makeup for the summer.  Just throw on a pretty sundress and I'm out the door.  The details on this vintage dotted swiss dress (that neckline/collar!) are enough to make it stand out on its own.  Also, I'm big fan of going bare foot when it's hot enough outside, which is why there aren't any full length shots. ; )

Wednesday Re-Fashion: Romper Gone Awry

I, for one, am not a fan of shorts. Period.  I was not blessed with my mom's great gams.  Shorts as part of a one piece?  Even less attractive to me.  So the romper is not a staple of my spring or summer wardrobe, though I admit, I like how they look on other people (J, below, being one).

We've found a few cute vintage rompers in our thrifting outings, but the one we decided to re-fashion was pretty appalling--"short" sleeves that came to the elbow, shoulder pads, and an awkward shorts length.  But with such a bright, fun print, we had to do something with it, and sewed it into this incredible little strapless mini--with pockets!

Available now in our Etsy shop!  It's bright and fun and easy to wear.  And the best part is:  it's one-of-a-kind! (Oh, and only $23!)

More funky re-designs coming your way next week.  Until then...

Stay gorgeous,
A
