Miskabelle Vintage + Salvaged Love + Chambray Shirt

We wanted to find a unique way to share our partners' work with you--Claire of Salvaged Love Jewelry did a giveaway last month, but this month, we wanted to showcase two of our favorite pieces from her shop and style an outfit around each:  kind of a sister style throwdown!

Funny story:  As I was putting the post together, Jayme sent her outfit, and we'd both chosen the same shirt!  But chambray is a classic piece that can be styled in so many ways, so we decided to keep it!  Now you have two ways to style a chambray shirt AND two ways to dress up a Salvaged Love necklace:

To Style: Tuck shirt in and add a belt over the vest to cinch waist. Add textured black tights.
SHOP:  necklace /// top /// vest /// skirt /// boots

To Style:  Knot shirt at waist. Add mid-calf socks to peek slightly out from top of boots.
SHOP:  necklace /// top /// skirt /// bag /// boots

Which look is your favorite? I kind of love them both! Jayme's look is very Ralph Lauren equestrian (the vest is actually RL!) and my look is a little country-girl cool. And Claire's jewelry is the perfect accessory to make these casual looks a little bit fancy.

Meet Claire of Salvaged Love Jewelry

We did a giveaway with Claire's shop a year or two ago, and she was amazing to work with. So we got back in touch about partnering together, and Claire decided to be part o our blog for 3 whole months! So she gets her very own post. :)  She sells both her handmade jewelry and vintage, and she has a great eye.  We asked her some fun questions to get to know a little about the lady behind all the prettiness...

Claire of Salvaged Love

Three surprises about me...
1.  I'm the president of a nonprofit organization called the Billboard Art Project.
2.  I have not eaten meat in 20 years.
3.  One of my cats weighs 25 pounds, but he's not fat... he truly is big-boned!

Things I wear (almost) daily...
flip flops, lip gloss, tinted moisturizer with sunscreen

I feel my best in...
Jeans and a cute top. And the aforementioned flip flops.

My favorite decade for vintage:  Tough one! When it comes to jewelry & style  inspiration for Salvaged Love, I’d say 1960s. But I love the 80s!

Never have I ever...liked broccoli.

Current life soundtrack:
"Home"  Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes
"Where is My Mind?"  Pixies
"Neighborhood One--Tunnels" Arcade Fire

In my wildest dreams...I am a successful  jewelry designer, able to  support myself completely by my craft.

We really believe Claire can make those dreams come true...check out her Etsy shop if you don't believe us.  Thanks, Claire, for partnering with us--we love having you here on the blog!

Say Hello!

Last month, we put out our very first Call for Partners on the blog, and we couldn't be more excited that some lovely ladies hopped on board to work with us!  We love collaborating with other creative and talented people, and it sure helps when they also happen to be pretty amazing people too.

Please, say hello to:
1.  Lauren of A Wild Tonic.
Lauren deems herself "your friendly neighborhood vintage-lovin', whiskey-sippin', photo-takin' nosocomephobe, who is interested in minimalism, paper goods, and traveling." We have been long-time readers of her blog, and consider her one of our best virtual friends.  Check out her vintage shop too!

2. Maddie of Thriftary.
There's just too much to say about how funny, awesome, and creative she is. Her blog is chock-full of inspiration for your life/home. You should visit her About Me page to learn more, which made me laugh out loud (how many people do you know that can make an About Me page funny?).

3.  Claire of Salvaged Love Jewelry.
Claire makes the most gorgeous jewelry out of recycled things.  She also sells the most fun vintage wares anywhere (slap bracelets! Madonna buttons! Master of the Universe stickers!)  So basically, she's a girl after our secondhand hearts.

4. Nicole of Rose Runs Wild.
Nicole, formerly of the Pussycat Vintage blog, is one of our absolute favorite people.  She has amazing style and a gorgeous family (bulldog included!).  She is the most genuine, cool person you will ever meet (or, you know, virtually meet). Her blog is s daily must-read. (P.S. She just got engaged to her studly man, Gray, so go wish her some happiness!)

We are so thankful to have the opportunity to work with these rad ladies--and we have some fun collaborations, guest posts, and giveaways coming your way this month!  So stay tuned.

xo,
