I wore this flowy blouse while I was pregnant and I just can't seem to put it on without feeling like I look as though I have a bun in the oven (even though it isn't even a maternity top!). So I layered a cropped sweater over top, to give it more of a waist. Paired with black jeans and black boots to make it even more sleek.
As for the hair--I am a pony-tail addict who is slowly coming to grips with the fact that I wear my hair UP pretty much all the time (I never ever thought I'd be THAT girl! Oh, motherhood...). I seriously think my hair is molding into a way that only looks good pulled back now, so here is my attempt at a little bit of change--a happy medium. Also, my bangs keep getting shorter and shorter....must. stop. cutting.
blouse: Target (old), sweater: Banana Republic (thrifted), jeans: Gap, boots: old, from Ross...and probably one of my best purchases EVER! $15 leather campus boots? And I've been wearing them for at least 5 years!
I'm hoping these little experiments will hold me over as I am itching for a new look! I'm thinking a hair color change (Amanda's new RED looks awesome!...but no worries, I won't copy you, sis!). Either that, or a buzz cut and purchasing a collection of wigs. What do you think?

Beautiful! I think the crop top looks adorable, although I'm sure it looks adorable without it too! It's so easy to fall into a rut of the same hairstyle every day, I'm definitely all for a color change to mix it up!
ReplyDeleteAh, my favorite queen of layering strikes again!!! Love this ensemble as always. The floral adds just the right amount of pop.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about wearing your hair up...sometimes you have to keep it out of reach of little fingers that are capable of causing much pain. ;) Until the other day, I had not had my hair cut since six weeks BEFORE my baby was born, and she's almost 14 months now! Everyone kept commenting how long my hair was, and I didn't notice because I saw it every day and pulled it back. One Mom's Night Out (with a friend to see Breaking Dawn 2.....aaaahhhhh!!!), I wore it down, and it wasn't until I saw a picture of us that I realized how long it was. Wow, that was a total ramble. Aren't you glad I shared that riveting story? But, anyway, speaking of painful little fingers, last night my daughter was trying to run her fingers through my hair like I do hers, just to be sweet. It hurt like hell, and I laid there and let her do it all she wanted. :)
