I chose this dress for its vintage-meets-modern sensibility: the style with a front and back handkerchief hem is definitely a more modern silhouette, but the polka dots appeal to my love of the 1950s.

This dress is so easy to wear! It is really lightweight and breathable, and I love that hemline (so flattering!). This little polka dot wallet/clutch is coming to our vintage shop this week, and it was my inspiration to add the red and white striped espadrilles to finish the look. This is such a versatile piece--I have many more ideas for how to style it in the future.
I also had to get a close up shot of the awesome 1950s lucite necklace I recently bought on Etsy. Confession: I hate pearls. I have never really liked them. I know they're supposed to be classic, but I can only see them as old and stuffy and oh-so-DC. This necklace is a fun alternative. I am also trying to show off my bun, which has a braid wrapped around it (thanks, Pinterest!). Such an easy and classy updo for hot summer days like this one.
Thanks, Sugarlips, for this gorgeous dress--I can't wait to pair it with some of my favorite fall layering pieces. Stay tuned next week when Jayme styles another great item from their new arrivals.

Amanda
