We typically make a day of it, and since Saturday was gorgeous (50+ degrees, where now it is barely 20+ degrees!), we planned our little trip on Friday night. Q had to work a little in the morning, so we didn't want to go too far away. We ended up settling on Leesburg, VA, about 40 minutes from us.
Leesburg is a big place--they have popular outlets and lots of typical suburban areas. But they have a great historical downtown area with restaurants and shops, and that's where we explored. We had lunch at a local brewery (any menu with fried pickles on it and I'm game) and then spent most of our time at a big antique/vintage shop.
Here is a little peek into our afternoon:
a few pretty little spots in town (those are crabs/crayfish on those windows--it's a Cajun restaurant!)
my silly loves...and a cool old diner/sign on the way to lunch.
SO many treasures...
The best part for me: two or three rooms full of authentic vintage. I got a few things for the shop PLUS an early birthday present from the husband (you'll get a closer peek later this week, but it's 1940s and polka dots, so that should tell you a lot about its awesomeness.)
We are excited for future trips to Leesburg since it's such a quick trip--there are many more shops we didn't get the chance to visit, as well are more restaurants to try!
Our next adventure is to Philadelphia for my 31st birthday + Valentine's Day. I can't wait!
xo,
Amanda
Looks like a great place - we are visiting there in February I think! I loved seeing these pictures because I haven't been yet- any suggestions on where to eat?

Hi Katherine! Thanks so much for stopping by our blog! We ate at the Macdowell Brew Kitchen, and definitely recommend it! We also heard good things about Tuscarora Mill and Doener Bistro! Let us know what you try...we plan on going back again soon!
